The IPPN National Support Office will remain open during the summer to provide support to IPPN members. The telephone lines are open from 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, providing assistance if needed throughout the summer. IPPN will not be communicating directly with members through the usual communication channels during the summer holiday period. However, should important guidance or communication be issued by the DE with regard to the reopening of schools in September, IPPN will communicate with members by email or SMS.

The EducationPosts.ie Online Application Portal is now live!

The new portal facilitates the acceptance of applications online using integrated Standard Application forms or uploaded custom application forms, and includes a calendar for scheduling shortlisting meetings and interviews.

The additional features are available when advertising Deputy Principal, Principal Teacher and various Teacher roles depending on the ‘Status of Post’ for the role. When an eligible advertisement is created, a notification is displayed allowing the Advertiser to use the additional features.

These developments aim to reduce the administration and paperwork associated with recruitment. For more details, check the Portal FAQ HERE

A leaflet has been developed to inform parents and guardians of the changes to the curriculum for primary and special schools. This leaflet is designed to introduce the changes that have and will occur. It encourages parents and guardians to engage in future consultations on the draft curriculum areas and subjects that will take place.

It would be advisable to remind teachers of their Garda Vetting requirements (DE Circular 31/2016) for the 2023/2024 school year if their Teaching Council Registration is due for renewal during the summer period.  When Boards are appointing new teachers, it is advised that the newly appointed teacher(s) share a link to their Garda vetting on the Teaching Council website through their Digitary CORE software.  This is in email format with a link in the body of the email.  Clicking on the link provides the vetting disclosure.  The Board is required to retain a copy of the disclosure in the teacher’s file.
