Making the Recruitment Process Easier to Manage
While recruitment is one of the most important tasks in terms of ensuring high quality teaching & learning and a positive school culture, it is also a labour-intensive process.
To make the management of the recruitment process easier, IPPN developed the online recruitment portal as part of Educationposts.ie.
By using the portal, you have access to significant additional functionality, for the same cost. The portal allows you to:
• manage all applications
• manage all communication with applicants
• schedule shortlisting meetings
• share applications with the selection committee
• schedule interviews
• manage post-interview communications
• generate an audit trail to confirm actions
• retain and delete data.
IPPN strongly encourages all schools to consider using the portal, as it will make the management of recruitment immeasurably easier.
Planning Prompts
At this time of year, in the period coming up to the summer holidays, people are tired and it is so easy for tensions to build within the school community. The ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’ comes to mind and it can mean that minor conflicts escalate quickly. Being aware of this, and how you yourself deal with conflict, helps in managing more effectively the inevitable situations that arise.

Leadership+ Issue 138 - Early on the Road of my AI Journey - Richard Carroll
A few years back, if someone mentioned AI to me, being from a farming background, my first thoughts would have turned to replacing our beloved Aberdeen Angus bull with straws and a flask of liquid nitrogen. When a colleague shared her experiences as to how she was using Artificial Intelligence in her school, a curiosity was awakened within me, and I began wondering how I could use AI in my school day. Allow me to share some of my experiences so far with you.
