Effective School Leadership - IPPN Blended Summer Course

After listening to feedback from previous years' blended course participants, IPPN is now running a one-week blended course in 6 different venues which will be open to all school leaders.
We are now offering a one-week blended summer course to take place during the first week of July, commencing on Monday, July 1st. The first 2 days will require viewing online content from your home or while in school. For the remaining three days – Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th and Friday 5th – you will be required to attend one of 6 venues for the face-to-face element. Open to Principals, Deputy Principals and Aspiring School Leaders.

Course Aims
This course will aim to assist School Leaders to:
- Reflect on and improve their leadership skills
- Improve their planning as leaders
- Discuss and exchange elements of best practice with other principals through collaborative learning and professional dialogue
- Plan for improvements in literacy and numeracy in their schools for better outcomes for pupils
- Discuss and develop strategies for school self-evaluation
- Become more time-efficient and more aware of empowering the school community through suitable delegation of tasks
- Become more effective communicators in one-to-one and group settings
- Reflect on self-care within a challenging work environment and set targets to achieve a healthier work life balance
- To address national priorities identified by the Department of Education and Skills in terms of wellbeing, school self-evaluation, driving school improvement and managing change
- To build principals' capacity to lead and manage their schools.
Course Structure:
- 8 hours of online learning followed by 12 hours face-to-face
- Seminar whole-group presentation followed by discussion groups and sharing/feedback
- Practical planning sessions including scenarios/case studies and reflective practice
- Role play on communication and conflict resolution
- Sharing best practice / peer-to-peer learning
- Discussion groups.

Effective School Leadership - Summer Course

This July, IPPN will deliver this course fully online from Thursday, July 1st, Friday, July 2nd, Monday July 5th to Wednesday, July 7th. This course will still give you the opportunity to share and discuss different aspects of your leadership role. It will also allow you develop improved methods of both professional and personal self-care. These courses are designed by school leaders for school

This course will be hosted online via zoom from Thursday, July 1st, Friday, July 2nd, Monday, July 5th to Wednesday, July 7th. The duration of the course is 20 hours online learning. Last date to register for the course is by 4.45pm, June 30th.
Price
A charge of €95 per person is applicable.

Course Structure:
The course consists of five days of 4 hour sessions, during the course you will be asked to participate in group discussion with fellow participants. The course encourages participants to be interactive and to reflect both on the material presented and on their own professional experiences.
The course is primarily aimed at supporting and developing school leaders knowledge and leadership skills, their interpersonal awareness and professional attitudes. All participants who contribute in the course will be treated as independent adult learners.
Online facilitators are allocated to the course and will interact with and support participants during the course. While participants are offered guidance in course materials and are encouraged to participate in reflective exercises and discussion forums, each participant is wholly responsible for his/her own learning and interaction with the course.
Attendance at all 5 sessions is required to gain course approval and your course certificate.
Deputy Principals' Regional CPD Sessions
