SEAI provide curriculum linked resources to help you to teach about energy and climate as part of SESE from Junior Infants to 6th class.  There are free Interactive White Board lessons available online with an accompanying teacher’s guide. 

Other resources available include Guzzler’s Big Book, The Energy File with lots of step by step experiments and activities as well as posters to help promote energy and climate awareness.  Climate SOS is a new reader available to schools aimed at senior primary students.   

Free teacher and pupil workshops are available on the topic of energy and climate change. An experienced facilitator can visit your school in person or virtually and carry out a fun, hands on workshop. Full details of all SEAI resources are available at www.seai.ie/schools

Tools to teach energy in the classroom

Book a free workshop and learn how to use the Primary Science resources in the classroom. This one hour workshop will give you all the tools you need to teach energy and sustainability in the SESE curriculum.

We will explain the key features of the resources including interactive whiteboard use, inquiry based science approaches and the spiral nature of the programme.
