Children in Hospital

Children in Hospital Ireland will hold a national raffle from 1st September to 30th September and are calling on schools to support the event. The organisation will support schools who host an educational day/week on the theme of 'Going to Hospital'. All money raised will go directly to the services that Children in Hospital provide for sick children and their families.

Children in Hospital is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting and ensuring the welfare of all children in hospital and their families. For almost 40 years, the organisation has been directly working with sick children to bring them both fun and support.

Certificates of Registration to be Issued [Teaching Council]

Certificates of Registration to be issued

[ Friday, 5th June 2009 ]

All registered teachers will be issued with a personalised Certificate of Registration later this year. In preparation for this, the Council is now writing to all registered teachers inviting them to check their name and title details, as currently held by the Council, and to update them as appropriate using the Change of Name or Title form.

Teachers' cooperation with this process is appreciated and they are advised to take this opportunity to ensure their personal details are correct. Where a completed Change of Name or Title form is not received from a registered teacher by the deadline, it will be assumed that the teacher is satisfied that the name under which s/he is currently registered, and the Certificate of Registration will be issued accordingly.

SESE interactive launched

Award-winning IPPN technologist Seaghan Moriarty launched the new software program, SESE Interactive in Galway Education Centre on 23^rd April last.

Before the launch, Seaghan was interviewed by Galway Bay FM news and spoke about the difference that SESE Interactive will make in enhancing the learning environment for teaching history, geography and science in primary schools across Ireland.

The launch was attended my numerous teachers from the greater Galway area. During his presentation, Seaghan demonstrated a range of the games and activities from SESE Interactive and illustrated the benefits the individual modules will make in teaching the SESE curriculum.

It has been designed to meet the needs of our members with a faster & more robust search tool and a new Principal Advice section. As you can see from the menu itself, this section groups all key resources and frequently-asked questions (FAQs) into such categories of information as Recruitment, Board of Management, School Policies (all policies in one place), Human Resource Management etc.

Paint the Province Red - Build up to the Heineken Cup Final

Munster Rugby is encouraging all schools throughout the province to decorate their schools and wear red on Munster Red Day which takes place on Friday, 23rd May. Some of the largest schools throughout the province have already committed to showing their support for the Munster team by allowing pupils wear jerseys and red clothing instead of their normal school uniforms on that Friday. There will be rugby equipment prizes and a chance to win a player appearance in the winning schools.
