E-scéal 174 - Education Partners meet re. Budget 2009 Campaign

Following IPPN's call for a united response to the Budget cuts on children and schools, IPPN hosted a meeting this morning which was attended by all the primary Education Partners.

It was clear at this meeting that there is shared concern about the effects of the budget cuts and agreement that voicing these concerns in a united fashion will present a powerful voice for children.

Fergus Finlay, who facilitated the meeting, offered to draft a statement to reflect the views expressed. It was decided that each organisation would support each other's actions in the weeks ahead in the campaign to reverse the budget proposals.

Meanwhile, IPPN Executive members Maria Doyle, Principal of Mercy Convent School, Waterford and Pat Goff, Principal of Scoil Mhuire, Wexford will feature on the Pat Kenny Show on this topic this Bank Holiday Monday morning between 10 and 11am.

We will keep you informed of developments as they happen.

Is sinne le meas,
