David Ruddy, BL and Principal of Talbot Senior School, Clondalkin, in conjunction with IPPN, in school year 2008/2009 facilitated a series of one-day legal seminars entitled Your School & The Law. These seminars were held in:

Cork (November 15th - Silversprings Moran Hotel)

Ballinasloe (November 29th - Carlton Shearwater Hotel)

Dublin (February 28th - Green Isle Hotel)

Sligo (March 21st - Sligo Park Hotel)

Dublin (March 28th - Green Isle Hotel)

 

Keynotes and Q&A sessions were delivered by a combination of the following speakers:

• Emer Woodfull
• Shay Bannon
• Dympna Glendenning
• Ian O'Herlihy.

The seminars addressed the following topics:

• New Code of Behaviour
• Enrolment - Policy, Procedures & Appeals
• Health, Safety & Welfare - Risk Assessments & Safety Statements
• Employment - Recruitment & Contracts.

These seminars were of interest to all those involved in primary and second-level education, including Teachers, Principals, Board of Management members and Parents.
