Leading Learning – It’s more than sums and spellings

This year’s Deputy Principals’ Conference focused on Literacy and Numeracy.  In addition to home grown expertise from the Colleges of Education – Dr. Martin Gleeson, Gene Mehigan and Dr. Seán Delaney - the conference was addressed by Dr. Pasi Sahlberg from Finland.  Dr Sahlberg explained how Finland has achieved an international reputation for excellence, he also outlined how this was achieved throughout the ‘90s when Finland was going through their own financial crisis.
